Third edition of the Cygnet Yellow Book now available

We’re proud to present the third edition of the Cygnet Yellow Book, offering useful wellbeing resources and advice.

The first Yellow Book was created in by Rethink Your Mind in 2012. It was created by those with experience of mental health challenges with the aim of providing an uplifting and inspiring wellbeing resource.

In addition to their own Yellow Book, Rethink Your Mind also collaborate with organisations, like Cygnet, to create their own personalised Yellow Book.

The theme of our Third Edition is “#NotesofThanks”, reminding us to express our gratitude for either the big or small things which contribute towards our sense of wellbeing.

Dr Tony Romero said: “Mental health issues are increasingly common and will touch all of us at some point in our lives, either directly or through a loved one. The arts give so many a voice when they would otherwise be silent. Some of us are better at talking about emotions or expressing them with words. For so many, artistic outlets like painting, poetry or music are preferred tools for allowing people to express themselves authentically.

“I am very impressed by all the contributors who have been brave and proud to share their work in this book. It is a window into their creative passions and I would like to thank every contributor for having the talent and courage to share their work with us. I am sure you will be inspired by what you see.”

As well as offering useful resources and advice on how to improve our wellbeing, The Yellow Book contains artwork, poetry, music and creative contributions from service users and residents across Cygnet and is a celebration of how creativity can support positive mental health.

We hope everyone finds the time to pause their busy lives and soak in these wonderful contributions from our service users. You will find it an uplifting process as you enjoy the creativity within these pages.

Our thanks as always to our contributors and to the services who supported the individuals to produce their work.
