Cygnet named as a partner in new care model projects

We are delighted to announce that NHS England has confirmed Cygnet Health Care as a partner in three of the 11 new programmes to take on devolved tertiary mental health commissioning.

This is the second wave of providers to be given such powers following an initial wave announced last year. The 11 new care model programmes will be responsible for a £300m commissioning budget.

The purpose of these commissioning pilot projects is to create a new models of care for low and medium secure adult mental health services, Tier 4 child and adolescent mental health services and eating disorder services. By creating new partnerships the aim is to explore new opportunities to improve care pathways for our service users.

Beginning in October 2017 Cygnet will be working with project lead Surrey and Border Partnership Foundation Trust on the commissioning of CAMHS services. We will also be working with project leads Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust on the commissioning of adult mental health secure services.

“This is an exciting time and Cygnet are pleased to be working in partnership with our NHS colleagues and other independent sector organisations to help shape and deliver effective local solutions for adult secure and CAMHS.”Mary-Ann Doyle, Associate Director of Business Improvement
