It’s been a busy week at Ranaich house, where residents and staff have been enjoying Scottish Learning Disability week. This year the event has a focus on human rights.
Cygnet Elms, our ‘Outstanding’ rated high dependency complex care service in Birmingham has been delivering care and treatment to service users for 10 years with many successful discharges into the community. To celebrate this occasion, Elms held a birthday party enjoyed by service users and staff alike.
Residents at Ellen Mhor have been preparing for a grand opening of their brand new sensory garden. The specialist residential service in Dundee has been working hard over the last few months to plan, create and build a new garden for residents to enjoy and relax in.
After an incredibly successful Quality Improvement (QI) Mapping Event last month, on Thursday 14th of April Cygnet Appletree became ‘QI Ready’, the first site in the North to be officially signed off!
Cygnet Hospital Maidstone have recently launched a brand new music room for service users to enjoy. The development of the music room came about as a response to a service user survey.
The Occupational Therapy team at Cygnet Derby recently arranged a Safari Day for all service users. They welcomed skunks, lizards, bunnies, birds and cockroaches to the hospital who were warmly welcomed by service users and staff who were extremely excited for their arrival.
Residents at Thistle recently got a great opportunity to attend swimming lessons at Perth Leisure Pool. The staff have kindly offered to close the pool for an hour on a Wednesday afternoon, especially for the residents.
The team at Cygnet Fountains have been working with Lancashire Wildlife Trust on an exciting new project which will see new life blossom in Witton Park’s long-forgotten greenhouses.
Cygnet Hospital Godden Green have recently launched 'Safe Wards' across the hospital. Safe Wards is a model with 10 associated interventions designed to improve the safety of everyone in inpatient mental health wards.
Well done to our Head of Education, Ed Hall, who has raised over £4K for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice after taking part in the Marathon Des Sables, a 150 mile foot race across the Sahara desert.
An Occupational Therapist at Cygnet Delfryn House in Flintshire has been delivering a series of webinars and events for over 200 schools across the UK to encourage young people to find out more about working in the mental health sector.
